Cupar Pilson

Cupar Pilson BA Hons. Member of the Arts Society of Ulster. Born in Belfast, Cupar has worked for many years as a graphic artist in printing and newspaper advertising. However his first love has always been to paint landscapes in oils, acrylics and mixed media. In recent years the human figure has tended to dominate, so that the landscape has become secondary to the foreground human subject matter.  Humour and a certain naivety of style is a hallmark of his work. He exhibits in various galleries and open exhibitions around Northern Ireland. He has also exhibited successfully in the Royal Ulster Academy annual shows in recent years, and is a member of the Arts Society of Ulster. He is a past holder of the MacDonald Prize, the McKibben Prize and was also a holder of the Jubilee Silver Medal in the Arts Society of Ulster's recent exhibitions. His work is represented in various private collections throughout Northern Ireland, the Republic, the UK, USA, and Canada.
