Stephen Farnan

Stephen Farnan is a potter by trade, having gained am MA (RCA) Ceramics and Glass, Royal College of Art, London (2000), and a 1st (Hons) in Fine & Applied Art, Ulster University Belfast (1998). "For several years I was working as a potter in a small rural village in Northern Ireland, making cups, bowls, teapots and plates. Then, about three years ago I moved to Belfast and started developing my portfolio of drawings, in conjunction with my ceramics – The resulting porcelain landscapes, sketchy pots and textiles have been a huge hit with people the world over, keeping myself and Conchobar (my ceramic apprentice) busy making in our Belfast studio. Recently I completed our ‘Portrait of Ireland’, which is a collection of about 80 landscape scenes from around Ireland. These along with new works from our growing international (world landscapes) collection are available framed as Porcelain Landscapes in a variety of sizes, or printed on Plywood. However we are also playing about with some more ‘sketchy’ designs that we are putting onto our hand thrown pots."
